The size of your TV cabinet is determined by two factors: the overall look of your entertainment area and the safety of your TV. To avoid your TV being knocked over, you'll need a larger cabinet based on the size of the TV. Look for a stand that is at least 5-7 cm wider than the overall width of your TV on either side. You'll also want to make sure there is enough room in front of and behind your TV. 

Your TV screen should be at eye level to avoid craning your neck at uncomfortable positions for hours. The recommended TV height is about 109 cm, although the best viewing angle is determined by the height of your sofa or chairs. If you have a large TV and your sofa is close to it, a lower TV cabinet is the way to go. Choose a higher TV cabinet if your sofa is close to the TV yet your TV is smaller.

You have a few alternatives if you want to put your TV in the corner of your living room. For a more elegant design, choose a TV stand with legs or castors. A TV rack can also be used as a space saver in a corner arrangement.
