Chairs should be able to fit under your table comfortably, with enough room for your legs. Most dining room chairs have a seat height of 46 cm and a depth of 40 cm. If you choose a chair with armrests, a 15-centimetre gap between the armrest and the table's bottom is sufficient. 

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you spend a lot of time sitting in a chair, one with armrests is the best option because it helps you maintain proper posture and supports your arms. However, if you have a limited space, chairs without armrests may be the best way to go.
