How do auctions work?

  • How can I participate in an auction?

You need to be logged in to your account to participate in an auction. A random nickname will be assigned to you when you first sign-up to keep the bidding process neutral and anonymous.

  • Auction nicknames

Your auction nickname will be shown when you bid on an auction. The auction nickname is publicly shown in the bids history. See the bidding history by clicking on the link below the “bid now” button that displays the number of bids.

  • How do I place a bid?

When you want to place a bid, you’re asked to enter your delivery address if it’s the first time you order or select the correct delivery address if you’ve ordered with us before. After that, we ask you to authorize your credit card, so we can reserve the balance of your maximum bid on your card. The winning bid amount will be reserved and deducted from your card balance if you win the auction.

You’ll start bidding as low as you want, and when you’re outbid, we automatically bid on your behalf up to the maximum bid you have entered. Read more about our automatic bidding system in the next chapter below.

Your bid is increased by increments only as much as necessary to maintain your highest bidder position. Every time a bid is placed in the last few minutes of the auction, an extra minute is added to the auction timer.

  • Automatic bidding

Our automatic bidding system makes bidding convenient. You don't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time someone places another bid. Instead, we’ll place a new bid from you automatically, but only until your maximum bid amount.

When you participate in an auction, you’re asked to give your maximum bid. It’s important that your maximum bid is the highest amount that you’ll be comfortable paying. The other bidders won’t know your maximum bid.

  • Can I retract or cancel my bid?

By entering your delivery details and authorizing the amount on your credit card, you enter a binding contract. Only in exceptional circumstances can a bid be cancelled. You can contact our customer service for more information.

    Exceptional circumstances:

    - You made a mistake when entering your bid, e.g. £ 50 instead of £ 5.

    - The item's description changed significantly after you placed your bid.

  • Auction rules

    - Only new items

    - Free shipping over £ 70

    - No extra auction fee

    - Auctions starting from £ 1

  • I won an auction! What now?

Congrats! Since you entered your delivery address and authorized payment before starting your bidding process, the only thing left to do is wait for your parcel to arrive.
