What payment options do you offer at your webshop?

At vidaXL we offer various payment options:

• Credit cards
• Debit cards
• Bank transfer
• PayPal
• Sofort

All our payments are processed by Adyen.

What is Adyen?

Adyen is a Payment Service Provider. This means that it processes payments on behalf of third parties such as product or service providers. When you buy something from an online store, Adyen processes the payment between you and the online store. This is why you may see Adyen’s name on your bank statement and not the name of the online store in question.


We accept the following credit cards:

• Visa (Visa Electron and VbV)
• MasterCard (including MasterCard secure code)

When you pay by credit card, your card information can be safely entered. Together with your credit card organization, we take care of processing your payment.

To complete your payment, you may be asked to activate 3-D Secure if this hasn't happened yet. 3-D Secure adds another safety layer to your payment. When paying for your order, it initiates a redirect to the website of the card issuing bank to authorize the transaction. You then use the authentication method chosen by you (or your bank) to verify you truly are the legitimate cardholder.

We accept the following debit cards:
• Maestro
• Solo

We strongly suggest you do not use gift cards or pre-paid cards as they may cause problems if a refund has to be issued.


SOFORT Banking is an online direct payment method and works on the basis of tried-and-tested online banking. The big advantage is: You don't need to register or open a virtual account, known as a wallet. It is an immediate and direct transfer of funds. Customers who select SOFORT Banking as their preferred method of payment for an online purchase will be directed straight to the secure sofort.com payment form. All transfer data is carried over automatically so that you only need to enter your bank's sort code along with your usual online banking login details and finally the confirmation code in order to authorise the transfer. All information delivered to your bank in an encrypted form. The online merchant receives confirmation of the transfer order in real time and can dispatch the goods promptly. This means there's no waiting time before the goods are sent, as is the case with payments in advance (by means of a bank transfer) for example.

Bank transfer

When you choose bank transfer to pay for your order, you transfer the total amount straight to our bank account. The most common way to do so is by means of online banking.
When selecting this payment method during checkout, the next page will provide all the information you need to successfully pay for your order.

When choosing “bank transfer”, you will receive the details of a local bank account in your own currency. You need to have a bank account in that currency to do the payment.

Please note:

• If the payment reference doesn’t match the provided PSP reference the transfer can’t be matched to your order and the funds will be returned automatically to your account.
• If the payment amount doesn’t match the order amount of your order the transfer can’t be matched to your order and the funds will be returned automatically to your account.
• Take into account that your payment must reach us within 10 days after the order otherwise your order will be cancelled automatically. It can take up to 5 business days for us to receive bank transfers.

Please use your private bank account to make a bank transfer. Please do not use intermediary services as:

• Other banks where you do not have an account
• Postal offices
• Other payment agencies

In case of a failed or refused transaction, the money will be sent back directly to the bank account of such agency or a postal office, and not to your personal bank account.


PayPal is a popular E-wallet, PayPal stores and secures your bank information. On websites that support PayPal, you will no longer have to leave your bank information. When you choose PayPal during checkout, you will be redirected to their website where you log in and finalize the payment. For more information, please take a look at the PayPal website.

PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy places some restrictions on what items can be purchased using their payment method. As a consequence, PayPal can't be used if you buy items from external sellers. Should you be prevented from purchasing an item with PayPal, please choose another payment method. We apologise for the inconvenience.


Why has my payment been declined?

Declined payments can be caused by any of the following:

Credit Card:
- The name and address of the card holder do not match the billing details.
- Your card is not authorized for international payments (our company and the transactions are carried out in the Netherlands).
- Your card has reached the limit for internet payments.
- The transaction page has timed-out.
- Leaving the page before finishing the check-out procedure.

Bank Transfer:
- The transaction page has timed-out.
- Leaving the page before finishing the check-out procedure.
- Your bank account has insufficient funds.

- The transaction page has timed-out.
- Leaving the page before finishing the check-out procedure.
- Your PayPal account has insufficient funds or is not linked to any secondary option like a bank account or a credit card.
